I perform African dance with live drummers and musicians or recorded music. I teach, choreograph and lead dancers with Energia and Samba Sol samba bands, at carnivals and festivals all over the South West.

African Dance is performed with African Drummer Denis Kigongo of Abuntu Arts and Sam Yeboah of Powerful Drums.

Afro Samba Dance is performed with Energia and Samba Sol who are  samba bands performing in the South West.

 

 

AFRICAN DANCE WORKSHOP EXAMPLES

TYPE OF PACKAGE
One day African dance workshop for school children and teachers, and any other age
groups in coprporate, business, and community environments. 
METHOD OF WORK
Overview of Africa and possibly a story from a particular/chosen part of
Africa. Traditional dances may originate from West, Central, East and Southern Africa. Creation of dances may be an option if workshop extends to a session of at least 2 hours.
Learn a dance and song.
Performance - optional
AGE GROUP
5 - 16 year olds, 16 – 18 year olds, parents, teachers, mature people from the business, corporate and community environment.
NUMBERS
20 -30 people per session
OUTCOMES
Feelings of wellbeing as a result of experiencing dance in a relaxing, supportive and fun environment. Develop motor coordination, spatial awareness, team spirit, and bonding within the group. Improve on confidence,
concentration and memory. Develop understanding acceptance and tolerance of African culture and its people.
