    You are here: Aerobics

I have been teaching fitness for all ages for 16 years now. They are designed according to the age group. We work on the entire body. The class is composed of a warm up, followed by a short stretch to prepare the body for a workout to get the heart and lungs pumping. This may be all low impact developing to a mix of high and low impact, depending on the age group and their fitness level. We then perform exercises to condition and tone the lower and upper body, followed by a wonderful relaxing stretch to prevent muscle tear and stiffnes and restore the body to a balanced state of blissful wellbeing.

After acquiring my YMCA Exercise to Music certificate in June 1991 I developed and founded AFROBICS which combines the safe principles of of exercising the body with the exciting African dance movements and music for a cultural workout. Participants learn African dance technique as well as the cultural context of the dance movements in a fun, supportive atmosphere. I have also developed CHAIR MOVES designed for elderly people or people with disabilities, to exercise from the comfort of a chair. They have prooved a very popular class with Womens Institutes.
